Ski Watch : Timex Expedition WS4

The new Timex Expedition WS4 is a lot of watch: altimeter, barometer, thermometer, chronograph, alarm and compass. It even tells time! It's also unapologetically macho which not venturing too far into the land of overwrought wrist weights.

Its got the standard stuff you'd expect for other Timex sport watches, making it water resistant to 50 meters and lit completely by Indiglo. The default strap is rubber, but it can also be mounted to a fabric strap so it can be worn on the outside of heavy gear.

Glove Review: 08-09 POW Mustacheo

Intended Purpose: This is a spring weather glove. It is meant for temperates from 25 degrees Fahrenheit to 100 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Sizing: I have typical women's hands. I'm currently sporting the men's medium in the Mustacheo's which fit, but are a little loose in spots. The Mustacheo fit lets it expand to hands, but does not have a way to tighten it like velcro...so getting a close size is necessary.....

Intended Purpose: This is a spring weather glove or inner glove upgrade. It is meant for temperates from 30 degrees Fahrenheit to 65 Degrees Fahrenheit.

Sizing: I have typical women’s hands. I am wearing a size mediums in the skinny gloves, and seriously they fit me perfectly. It doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing gloves because of the perfect fit, like a second skin.

Features: The catalog says it “attracts mates” but I’m still waiting for that…haha. But seriously, these are really lightweight gloves that you can wear under another set of gloves or sport as your spring glove. It comes in 3 different colors, I’m sporting the purple and black combo.....

Hanging out with Pow Gloves

When I got the phone call from Kaiser that I should stop by Pow while in Seattle, I was excited to check it out. I’ve rocked the shockers since they came out and really like the humor and style behind Pows gloves. With the upcoming 08-09 models coming out in stores, I hope people will love them as much as I do. We need more mustachios, high 5’s and shockers in the world.

When I arrived, I met with Dustin who is the founder/CEO of Pow Gloves and Henry the multi-tasking intern. Kaiser who is the marketing man was picking up food with some athlete prospects. Across the street from Pow happens to be a very good place to get a sandwich and I got lucky to be able to taste some that Kaiser brought back.....

It features a beefy, German engineered multilayer woodcore Tough box construction. It can take whatever you can dish out and then some.


The 2009 HEAD Supermojo 105 This looks like a big mean pair of sticks, but they are really a pleasure to rip around in the pow on. The Head Supermojo 105 has been around for a few years now and simplicity is what makes these great. They have an even flex pattern and a longer radius sidecut making them super boyant, quick to turn, and soft on the landings. We had a pair of these last year and still love getting out on em! The 2009 Rossignol Scratch Girl BC BC stands for Back Country which is synonomous with British Columbia. These skis were bread for the BC! We got one of the Catskiing.ca girls out on a pair of these babies last season and she said she wouldn't go skiing again unless it was on a pair of Scratch Girls. With their light WRS construction found in the other Scratchs skis, they are perfect combination of float and control. Oh, and they have pretty flowers on them. Size ranges from: 140, 150, 160, 170 cms


The 2009 K2 obSETHed A new and even more big-mountain focused twin inspired by Seth Morrison. This ski is a new direction for Seth’s pro model ski designed, tested, and approved for his style and approach to skiing. The additional increase to 105 mm underfoot, Progressive Sidecut and Rocker design enhance flotation in soft snow, but it’s the shorter rocker design that increases it’s versatility in crud or on hardpack.
